(Pattaya, Thailand) Mike Stabile of the Free Speech Coalition is this Week’s Guest on Adult Site Broker Talk in part one of a two part series.
Mike Stabile is a journalist and documentary filmmaker who has supported sex workers and free expression of sexuality for over a decade through his writing and filmmaking. The New York Times, the Daily Beast, Salon, Buzzfeed, and Playboy have all featured his writing. The Advocate chose his film Seed Money, which is about the pornographer turned philanthropist Chuck Holmes, as one of the year's best documentaries.
Stabile started Polari Media to facilitate alternative groups and enterprises reaching a wider audience. Since 2013, he has been the Free Speech Coalition's communications director.
Their goal is to safeguard the individual and corporate liberties of those involved in the adult entertainment sector.
Their group acts as a guide, a pioneer, and a resource for the neighborhoods they support. They are proud of the work they've done to combat prejudice against people in the adult business and related fields, including efforts to dispel myths and change laws.
They've been at it for almost thirty years, from the Supreme Court to the polls and back again, and they keep winning. Our sector is under constant attack, but we know from experience that when we band together, we can prevail.
